About Boreal Appliance Repair
Boreal is the name we use when homeowners hire our service network directly.
Boreal Appliance Repair launched in 2026. The business behind it has been repairing appliances since 1980 under the name Trans Global Service.
For most of that history, the work has been done in Canadian homes, almost always on another company's behalf. Manufacturers send us out on warranty claims, and extended warranty providers book us for covered repairs. Retailers call us when a delivery does not go as planned. Because the name on the work order belonged to whoever sent us, a large number of Canadians have had a technician from this company in their kitchen without ever learning the company's name.
Boreal is that same operation under a name of its own. The technicians, the parts network, the dispatch and the training are unchanged. What is new is the ability to hire us directly.
Independent repair shops can be excellent. Boreal is built differently: behind each local technician is a national parts operation, manufacturer training on current models and decades of repair history.
Until now we have applied those resources on behalf of manufacturers, warranty providers and retailers. Boreal exists so that a homeowner with an out-of-warranty appliance can buy the same repair, from the same technicians and the same parts network, at a price agreed before the work starts.
There is no membership and no subscription. The customer books the visit, and decides whether to proceed once the diagnosis and the price are known.
Boreal handles out-of-warranty repairs, paid by the customer at the time of service.
Where an appliance is still covered by a manufacturer warranty or an extended warranty plan, the quicker route is usually to contact that provider, since the provider authorizes the repair and covers the cost.
Customers who are not certain who holds their coverage, or what it covers, can call us regardless. Our agents will help identify the right provider and direct the call, whether or not the job ends up with Boreal.
Boreal technicians work in 32 local service areas across British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and Nova Scotia.
Every market has its own page, listing the communities covered there and the appliances repaired most often in that area. Each page carries a local phone number that reaches a person.
Boreal Appliance Repair and Trans Global Service are two operating names of the same company.
Trans Global Service has been in use since 1980 and is Canada's largest appliance service network. It remains the name that manufacturers, extended warranty providers and retailers deal with. Boreal is the name used with homeowners who are paying for their own repair. The technicians, parts, training and dispatch behind the two names are the same.
Both operate as divisions of The Brick Warehouse LP, part of LFL Group, the Canadian retail group behind The Brick and Leon's Furniture. A technician who arrives in a Trans Global Service vehicle or uniform is a Boreal technician.
Bookings start with an address and a description of what the appliance is doing. The next appointment available in that area is shown before the booking is confirmed.
The diagnostic is $129.95, and the repair is quoted separately for your approval before work starts. Every repair is covered for 90 days on parts and labour.
